Senior Vice President
Phil Shuman joined S4 Inc. in 2014. As a Senior Vice President, Mr. Shuman is responsible for the oversight and direction of the marketing team in the growth of S4, particularly in the area of cybersecurity.
Prior to joining S4, Mr. Shuman worked with Constellation West where he was a Senior Director for Business Development; Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services (HPES), where he was a Client Sales Executive; General Dynamics Information Technology, where he was a Senior Program Manager; and the MITRE Corporation, where he was a Lead Multi-Discipline Systems Engineer.
Mr. Shuman’s career as a civilian employee spanned from 1990 to 2007. During this time, he supported the US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Intelligence Directorate (J2) in several capacities, including Chief, Intelligence Resources Division; Deputy Director for Intelligence Support; Chief, Intelligence Systems Architecture Branch; and Chief, Intelligence Production Branch.
Mr. Shuman also supported the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) as the Director of Intelligence Systems Data Center for their Omaha, Nebraska office. In this role, he led a diverse team of 300 civilian, military, and contractor personnel, providing systems support to the USSTRATCOM Headquarters. Mr. Shuman provided Program Management for over 50 intelligence systems on the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) before retiring from DIA in 2007 as a GS-15 Civilian. During his distinguished civilian career, Mr. Shuman was honored with the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Rowlett Award for Organizational Improvement in Information Security, and the Vice Presidential Hammer Award for Business Process Re-Engineering.
Mr. Shuman served in the United States Air Force for 10 years, from 1980 to 1990, including several positions as an Intelligence Analyst supporting the Strategic Air Command (SAC) at Offutt AFB, Nebraska and as a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Instructor at Keesler AFB, Missouri.
Mr. Shuman holds a B.A. in Intelligence Studies from American Military University.
