Vic Beck

Vice President - Communication Planning & Strategy

Mr. Beck is the Vice President of Communication Planning and Strategy at S4. He works directly with entities in the public and private sectors to develop communication plans and strategies that optimize success.

Before joining S4, Mr. Beck was recalled to active duty in the U.S. Navy. During his mobilization he was initially assigned as the director of an International Media Engagement Team for U.S. Central Command, but was quickly moved to a more critical position in Iraq, one in which he was the Chief of Media Operations for the Multi-National Force-Iraq (MNF-I) in Baghdad. In this capacity, Mr. Beck was in charge of running 24/7 media operations in a combat environment while leading 85 public affairs and support personnel. He was responsible for messaging, media relations, press desk operations, press conferences, interview preparation, producing guidance, and internal and external communications.

Prior to answering the nation’s call to serve, Mr. Beck was Vice President at Peter Arnold Associates, a public relations agency, where he was responsible for strategic communication development, tactical execution, client management, and supervision of junior staff for most agency clients. He led numerous activities for various clients such as message development, obtaining press coverage, writing bylined opinion articles, developing press materials, writing press releases, pitching the media, conducting media training, preparing executives for interviews, controlling messaging to ensure positive press coverage, and building lasting relationships with journalists for the benefit of clients.

Previously, Mr. Beck was Director of Corporate Communications for ATG (Nasdaq: ARTG) and ePresence (Nasdaq: EPRE). He was responsible for global corporate communications and integration of marketing programs, planning and directing product launches, all communication activities around acquisitions, and all public relations, lead-generation events, investor relations, and marketing communications. Mr. Beck developed, approved and implemented plans while supervising outside agencies executing communication strategies and tactics in Europe, Asia and throughout North America.

Mr. Beck has also held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in marketing, public affairs, public relations, media relations, and account management at various PR agencies. An award winning strategic communicator, Mr. Beck has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from State University of New York and has completed graduate coursework through Harvard University and the Babson Graduate School of Business.
