Location: Pentagon

Clearance Requirement: Must have TS or higher today, interim TS will not be accepted.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Member of a team providing support for unique tools, models and information technologies used by the Joint staff in accomplishing their missions.
  • Apply state-of-the-art methods in a scientific or technical area and available computational and analytical resources to assess the effectiveness and consequences of conventional and nuclear weapons systems employment.
  • Apply detailed knowledge of nuclear or conventional weapon systems and their planning, employment, or effects.
  • Support development of a five-year strategic plan that outlines a path forward for the continued development of specific models.
  • Conduct research using models, simulations, and methodologies to assess the effectiveness and consequences of weapon system employment.
  • Solve complex problems and formulate analytical approaches to address those problems.
  • Support development of program objectives and requirements, organizing and scheduling programs, and developing standards and guidelines for modeling in scientific/technical areas and diverse supporting activities.
  • Support software test and evaluation and application design.
  • Conceive and develop mathematical, technical, and analytical techniques for complex problems involving multiple scientific and technical areas. Apply broad knowledge of the analytical, hardware, and software environments existing in the Joint Community and programs.
  • Apply knowledge of networking, parallel processing, object-oriented design concepts, distributed architectures, and other advanced computing technologies and their application to software design and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Masters Degree (PhD preferred)
  • 8 years experience providing weapon systems effectiveness analysis and modeling.
  • 10 years experience with the models, simulations, and methodologies used to assess the effectiveness and consequences of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Integrity Monitor Experiment (DIME) actions.
  • Position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Experience serving on the Joint Staff or other staff particularly in the JS J8
  • Experience with DoD customers
  • Experience with JCIDS (CJCS 3170) and/or the Analytic Agenda
  • Prior experience supporting development of analytic tools, interfaces

This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.

Travel: Some travel may be required.
