Specific Duties:
- Produce special reports and assessments related to specific incidents and trends concerning threats to the GIG as required.
- Conduct Indications and Warning (I&W) analysis to assist in predicting potential against the DOD GIG.
- Respond to the J2 for threat identification of activity directed against DoD systems.
- Evaluate international events, all-source and open-source intelligence, and operational information to assist in the assessment of potential impacts to the DOD GIG and alert the USCYBERCOM and parent command structure to potential network exploitation or attacks. Using these techniques and taking advantage of web-based research tools, the candidate shall match potential threat candidates with the J3 identified activity, produce reports and/or briefs, and make intelligence-derived recommendations to the J2/J3 for the defense of the affected network.
- Assist in editing all reports and report formats for content and clarity as needed in support of J2, USCYBERCOM-GNO Phase I and II intelligence reporting.
- Develop and present in-depth intelligence briefings and presentations.
- Assist in the management of daily intelligence reports and bulletins and web sites on the classified networks.
- Maintain communications as directed with intelligence representatives at USCYBERCOM Service components, other Combatant Commands.
Required Skills:
- Identification and reporting of detected events through persistent monitoring and analysis of I&W and AS&W indicators, dissemination and reporting (daily/weekly) of cyber related activity. Provides vulnerability management and response, security assessments, and customer support.
- Technical expertise in hacker/hacktivist group capabilities and intentions to conduct CNE (computer network exploitation) and CNA (computer network attack) against the US Critical Infrastructure as it specifically relates to agency systems and mission.
- Research/Analyst tools that are utilized: JTID, JTIP, ROSL, HOTR, COLISEUM
- Extensive knowledge of IA field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Familiarity with short term analysis and reporting in support of indications and warnings and threat warnings
- Job may require evening and weekend work; may include travel and temporary duty.
Education:
Requires GCIA certification and 3 years network' defense/information assurance experience.
